A lofty lookout
A pair of feathery observers use the bell tower of St Barnabas as a high point. See https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5953642 for a wider view of this 1924 church.

St Barnabas in Temple Cloud
The church was designed in 1924 by W.D. Caroe in the Arts and Crafts style, featuring an open bellcote with two bells. The latter were cast in 1924 by Mears and Stainbank of Whitechapel, London. The land was given to the village of Temple Cloud by the local landlords, the Rees-Mogg family. Its 'hall' design allows it to open its doors for all community gatherings. See https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4023540 for a closer look at the bellcote.

St Barnabas
Temple Cloud only welcomed the church in recent times. The foundation stone records its laying by Miss A.M.E. Rees-Mogg on 9th February, 1924. Unusually, the church is not in a particularly built-up area but does not have a churchyard or grave site associated with it. See Image] for another look at the bells.

St Barnabas bells
The slender stonework that carries the bells of St Barnabas church in Temple Cloud was designed by W.D. Caroe in the early 1920s. Perhaps it's not a coincidence that the structure is slightly redolent of a coalpit? After all, many local men went down the mines in North Somerset. See Image] for a look at the church's front.

Benchmark on the Assembly Rooms
A cutmark, as listed in the Benchmark Database: https://www.bench-marks.org.uk/bm101161 , on a former ecclesiastic building in Temple Cloud. Once the Assembly Rooms and latterly a church house, it is now a private residence.

The old courts
Temple Cloud is a relatively small place but used to have a substantial law court and nick in the recent past. The buildings were created in 1857 in Jacobean style as a Divisional Magistrates’ Court and Police Station. Now a guest house it still has the courtroom and three cells to entertain visitors.

Exchanging views
The old telephone exchange used to look over open fields but is now being enclosed by all the new housing that has sprung up in recent years.
