Over the top stile
A rather lofty stile has been provided to take the adventurous over the hedging, rather than through it. The stile is not on an official footpath but is welcoming nevertheless. The owner of these woodlands (supported by the Forestry Authority) expressly permits visitors.

Start of the back lane between Slate Lane and Woollard
Looking down the lane just after turning off Slate Lane/Peppershells Lane at ST 641 650. The lane continues to the left of the house entrance gate just visible in the distance. It usually gets very muddy further on.

Down the hill to Compton Dando
A footpath and a gate point the way down the meadow to the village; it's a better way to walk to it, rather than use Peppershells Lane which is a few yards to the left.

More bluebells beyond
The trees are not that close in actual fact but the impression from this distance lends a nice geometric touch. And there are yet more bluebells beyond.
