A new wrapper
The original frontage of the old Fry's chocolate factory remains in the redevelopment, give or take a bit of scaffolding and the odd makeover.

Once this was Cadbury's Factory
Now flats, thanks to Kraft who bought the site , moved production to Poland and sold to developers. Flats, swimming pool, gym, cinema, restaurant and a doctors surgery.

What has happened to Keynsham's twin towers
The former Fry's/Cadbury's chocolate factory has been converted as quality apartments. The several storey building was built overlooking the River Avon and the flood meadows, with two prominent capped towers. Having undergone the changes, the towers remain but now have several windows and openings.

The Monarch's Way, Forest of Avon Community Forest Path. Keynsham
The name given in the title of this view is the one shown on the wooden post at the kissing gate to a path on the north side of Keynsham Lock http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3264282 on the Kennet and Avon Canal. Another notice on the post asks you to keep your dog on a lead and keep to the path. The chimney is at the southern edge of the former Cadbury's (originally Fry's) Somerdale factory.

Watching the changes
Sydenham Mead is a low-lying part of the Avon in Keynsham, popular with walkers, and dominated for most of the twentieth century by the imposing factory. The tree would have seen all the changes when being built and now it's being redeveloped into homes.

Plenty of fresh air
The old Fry's/Cadbury's factory used to put air into the chocolate bars, but now there is plenty of air for the future occupants when their homes are completed.

An airy apartment
The apartments have not yet been built, of course. The Somerdale chocolate factory produced sweet treats for about eighty years but the end came in 2011. Now the plans for a number of housing and commercial facilities are underway.
