St Nicholas of Tolentino church
The church was founded in the earlier part of the 1800s, and has been extended on occasions since. Beside it used to be a school in the past, which is now replaced by some modern housing that crowds the old church rather.

The Crown Tavern and neighbours
The pub has stood here for well over a century and has seen many changes all around it. Originally this road was known as Bridewell Road before changing to Lambs Street East and then to Gloucester Road in the late nineteenth century. It used to be part of a typical Victorian terraced suburb but much of the old houses were terrible places and declared slums. They were demolished in the post-war push for better housing and John Cozens House (further on) was part of the new approach.

Stapleton Road Tavern
The pub opened in the mid-nineteenth century but finally called last orders in 2013. It has since tried its hand at being a community facility for creative arts for a while but now appears to be set for conversion into residential use. A benchmark can be found on the corner - see Image
