Postboxes, Portland Square, Bristol
Behind the George V postbox shown in Image] is this Elizabeth II postboxm numbered BS2 2293. I don't think there can really be over 2000 postboxes in BS2; in fact there are only 1593 in the whole of the BS postcode area, according to https://edwardbetts.com/postboxes/index.html . The terrace in the background is "of 7 houses. 1789-1820. By Daniel Hague ... Late Georgian style" https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1208806 .

1-6 Portland Square, Bristol
At the south-west corner of this plain but stately Georgian square, laid out, with the surrounding streets, by the architect Daniel Hague from c1787 (though not completed until c1823). Each house, in Bath stone, is of three storeys plus basement and attic (the end a storey higher), rusticated ground floor, and good pedimented doorcase. Grade I listed. I think now all in commercial use.

Portland Square electricity substation vent
Older methods of providing electricity in urban areas often put the substations underground. Here a vent provides the necessary route for the air circulation.

Christmas trees, Bristol
Always a rather sad sight. Still, I'm sure Bristol Council will know how to recycle them in the most environmentally-friendly way. These, plus an office chair to accommodate any passers-by who might wish to cheer them up, are on Surrey Street.
