Summer Lane Pond, Locking Castle
Summer Lane Pond is designated a Local Wildlife Site because of its reedbeds. These wetlands, dominated by stands of the common reed Phragmites australis, are a national Priority Habitat and are among the most important sites for birds in the UK. Birds seen here include the mute swan, mallard, moorhen, coot, Canada goose, grebe, heron, kingfisher and reed warbler. The reedbeds also support a variety of insects, including the damselfly and dragonfly.

End of Summer Lane North
The section of Summer Lane from New Bristol Road to the base of the Summer Lane Railway Bridge was renamed Summer Lane North, following the rerouting of Summer Lane from a new roundabout on New Bristol Road (opposite Lidl) to join the existing road crossing over Summer Lane Railway Bridge in 1986. The original road was blocked to traffic from the access at Summer Lane and New Bristol Road. Until the railway was built in 1841 this road would've gone through flat land instead of the current slope up to the railway bridge. The buildings on the left are offices on Park Way, built in 1990 along with Worle Parkway Railway Station.
