This striking church is that of St Peter's. It dates from 1980 and replaces an earlier church.

A stylish St Peter
This church is a modern building, standing beside the older church on this spot on Alexandra Road.
The move to create a new church was growing in late Victorian Clevedon. Word arrived of a school chapel in Margate, Kent, that was made of corrugated iron sheeting and had pews and stained glass that was being made redundant. The townsfolk bought it, had it transported by train and reconstructed it by May 9th, 1899.
Given the increasing popularity over the twentieth century, Dame Violet Wills generously donated a large sum of money to build the present structure.

Alexandra Gardens, Clevedon
The southern part of the gardens, seen from Alexandra Road. The gardens are on part of the site of The Ripple, an old wood. The gazebo rose arch is in memory of Margaret, Lady Elton, whose family gave the park to the town.
