This church is a modern building, standing beside the older church on this spot on Alexandra Road. The move to create a new church was growing in late Victorian Clevedon. Word arrived of a school chapel in Margate, Kent, that was made of corrugated iron sheeting and had pews and stained glass that was being made redundant. The townsfolk bought it, had it transported by train and reconstructed it by May 9th, 1899. Given the increasing popularity over the twentieth century, Dame Violet Wills generously donated a large sum of money to build the present structure.
