Procreation among the stingers
Whitchurch Green: a couple of ladybirds (Coccinellidae sp.) are busy in the age-old rituals of the countryside, much to the indifference of a Dung Fly (Scathophagidae sp.). It's good to see in these more enlightened days that couples of different sorts are tolerated - and just to prove that equality is applied see Image

A farm now lost
This part of the old Whitchurch Green area was actually the site of Whitchurch Green Farm. It disappeared from the maps in the early 1960s, about the time that Stockwood was being created. The boulder and small ditch/rampart are designed to prevent ingress by travellers.

Ladybird love
Whitchurch Green: this little patch of nettles seems to have been a breeding ground for these familiar beetles, as there was plenty of love being shown today.

It takes all sorts
Carefully avoiding the nettles' sharper points, these two noticeably different ladybirds are clearly enjoying each others company. For a balanced representation of this patch of Whitchurch Green, see Image

A post holder?
The small patch of green at the top of Stockwood Road was once the site of Whitchurch Green Farm over a century ago. Among the shrubs and paths are little reminders - this stone in the ground appears to have a socket in it, perhaps for a post.

Keeping on the right path
The public footpath across the fields around Whitchurch Green runs across a horse paddock. To help prevent any unwanted wandering the owner has provided some handy markers.

Whitchurch Green
A rather rustic (and indeed rusty) sign declaring the patch of grass behind it as belonging to the parish. Welding words on a steel plate has never really caught on as a style.
