Sundial at Penpole Point
Early to mid C19. Situated on a prominent point overlooking the Bristol Channel and mouth of the River Avon, and forming part of the park of Kings Weston House. However the surrounding trees and bushes have grown so that there is no longer a decent view from here.

A blank sundial
The nineteenth century stone pillar and seating on Penpole Point used to have a sundial but that has long been lost. It is a part of the old Kingsweston estate, much of which is now in the public domain, and is on a prominent high-point overlooking the River Avon. Grade II listed.

Two stone monuments on Penpole Point
A high ridge of land overlooks the River Avon and may have provided the ideal spot for the landowners of Kingsweston House to view their ships arriving in port. It also provided a good spot for a triangulation pillar in the twentieth century. Such is the surrounding growth that the views from here are now compromised, especially in summer.
