I'm not sure that I would wish to cycle along here with snow and ice on it: the gritted road would be safer.

The long distance path heads left into Elmstead Wood (towards Grove Park Cemetery). It also heads straight on (via a link path towards Chislehurst).
It also comes from Elmstead Woods Railway station (further along Elmstead Lane).
