This is the rear of the main running shed. A bus operating facility was opened on the site (which had previously served as a lorry park and storage for a fairground operator) by Tillingbourne in 1981 . The facility was taken over by Tillingbourne's successor Metrobus in 1983. Over the years the premises were expanded, and rebuilt in 2005 some years after the acquisition of Metrobus by the Go-Ahead group in 1999. The name Metrobus still survives within the group, hence the fact that the garage continues to be coded as 'MB'.

This photo shows the depot building together with a few buses parked outside. To the left is an ADL E40D double-deck bus with ADL Enviro 400 bodywork while beside it is WS56 (SM15 VKA) a 2015 Wrightbus Streetlite WF with Wrightbus 28-seater bodywork. The double-deck bus to the right of the photo is driving training vehicle E81 (LX57 CKL), an ADL Trident 2 with ADL Enviro 400 bodywork. The ADL Trident 2 was the predecessor to the ADL E40D vehicle. The barriers have been positioned so that a bus using the washer inside the depot can proceed along its side without being hindered. An Open Day was being held on the day this photo was taken and the public were able to travel on a double-deck bus through this bus washer.

This photo shows the entrance to Orpington Bus Garage in Farnborough Hill where an Open Day was being held. It opened in September 1983 on the site of Oak Farm and Metrobus began operating there with six buses and six drivers. Over the years, Metrobus expanded its operation and in 1999, it was sold to the Go-Ahead Group. In 2013, a management restructure saw Orpington garage passing to Go-Ahead London's management. Today, it has over 170 buses running on routes in the Orpington area and into south east London. These include ten electric double-deckers working on route 353. Also, twenty e-tram type single-decker vehicles are due this year at Orpington garage for working on route 358 between Crystal Palace and Orpington via Bromley .

In the foreground to the left of the photo is preserved Arriva bus PDL145 (SN06 BRF) a 2006 Dennis Dart with Plaxton Pointer bodywork whilst the double-decker bus in the distance is DLA1 (R101 GNW) a preserved 1998 Arriva DAF DB250 with Alexander ALX400 bodywork.

This building stands opposite the main running shed and houses a drivers' signing-on point and offices.

The attractively designed Brittenden Close along with Wardensfield Close provides sheltered housing, retirement housing and supported housing for older people. This is the view from Sevenoaks Road.
