St John the Baptist, Catford: Forster monument
Although in the style of a medieval knight's tomb, there is no burial here: it is a memorial to various members of the Forster family killed in the First World War.

St John's church: interior
The interior of the church was reordered for the second time in 2007 (the first time being in the 1970s). The large windows, without stained glass, make for a light interior. Carpet and padded chairs were introduced to soften the 'hardness' of Nicholson's architecture. The east wall is painted white for images to be projected on it as part of the worship.

St John's church: organ
The organ is in the south transept of this 1920s church. It came from the former church of St Barnabas, South Lambeth Image, where it had been played by Ralph Vaughan Williams who was organist there, and before that from All Saints, South Lambeth.

St John the Baptist, Catford: screen
The glazed wooden screen was erected c.2008 to demarcate the "worship" and "social" areas of the nave. As it is not full-height it is not intended to provide thermal or sound insulation between the spaces.
