Tudorbethan in Southborough
This is quintessential suburbia with houses in the Tudor style (Tudorbethan), wide grass verges and blossom trees. This is Southborough Lane.

New houses on the corner of Lancaster Gardens
The development can be seen as a small gated road at the back of the main road.

Former lodge, Southborough Road
Formerly the lodge for The Cloisters, a big house which, together with its grounds, is now lost under suburban housing. Since this view the lodge has been overhauled, with noticeable loss of character. The interesting wall has been replaced with a brick wall of much more subdued ornamentation, the leaded windows have gone, and the unusual fretted barge boards have been replaced with a different style of ornamentation or plain. At least the decorative roof tiling remains.
