Bickley: Oldfield Road
The dry hot July of 2006 in the south-east of the country seems to have caused horse chestnut trees in particular to shed their leaves early this year, and they show up distinctively among other trees. There is another one further down this long straight road between Blackbrook Lane and Southborough Road.

Southwark Place is a residential cul-de-sac in Bickley, in the outer suburbs of south east London.
This image was taken on a dull and gloomy January afternoon. Deciduous trees were bare for the winter season, but evergreens had kept their leaves.
