Newhaven Heights
Static caravan park near the cliff top on the south western edge of Newhaven. The part in view was added as an expansion in the early 2000s. Beyond is the end of Court Farm Road built on the site of Meeching Court Farm then open fields separate that from Image with Image to the left.

Choosy lichen at Newhaven Heights
Living on this "private park" of mini-houses is a curiously choosy orange-yellow lichen. On the near roof it is profuse, and on a few others, yet most roofs are completely clean. With one exception, the only roofs with lichen are those that started out light grey. It is the more intense colours that are clean. The exception, just inside the boundary straight ahead, is light red.

Entrance, Castle Hill Nature Reserve
Also a footpath junction. Straight ahead along the cliff top will get you to Peacehaven, turn right and descend through Newhaven heights caravan park to Court Farm Road to take you back to Newhaven. Turn left and it's a long drop down to the beach.

Small Cave
At the base of a cliff west of Newhaven. The sea is eroding the chalk here forming these openings at the foot of the cliffs which will eventually lead the cliff to be top heavy and collapse.

Nests on the Cliff
Looking up the cliff face from below at low tide. The small ledges provide ideal nesting places for Herring Gulls which judging by the noise when I passed by was feeding time.

Looking out to Sea
View from the cliff top footpath at the western end of Castle Hill Nature Reserve. The boat would come to a halt a little to the west of Old Nore Point.

Cliffs near Burrow Head
Looking back towards the cliffs from the rocks at low tide. The bases are slowly being eaten away by the action of the tide forming small caves which will eventually cause the rocks above to collapse. A closer view of the middle one can be seen here, Image Also noticeable is the boulder line immediately below the cliff caused by recent collapses and in turn they will be weathered down until the sea is able to transport them elsewhere.
