Laughton Road
The B2124 which starts at Kennel Corner, the junction with the B2192, and heads to Laughton then beyond to a junction with the A22 near Holmes Hill. Formerly part of The Broyle, a former medieval deer park and common, that was enclosed in 1767. Turnpiked at the same time, like all the other highways travelling through the former park the road is very straight though unlike all other roads this one has a few kinks here and there to ensure it was able to align itself with the road when both the park and parish boundary had been reached at Broyle Place. This view looks into Ringmer down towards Kennel Corner.

Former Army Barracks, Laughton Road
The building is believed to be the former officers mess of the Royal Horse Artillery Barracks built during the time of the Napoleonic wars. The barracks were decommissioned in 1828 and sold off with the land reverting to farmland and some of the buildings becoming a private lunatic asylum which itself closed in 1855. The buildings now house the kennels for the Southdown and Eridge Hunt with this one subdivided into East, Middle and West houses possibly providing live in facilities for hunt workers.

Canteen Field
The name of the field according to the 1839 tithe map. Formerly part of The Broyle, a medieval deer park and common, which was enclosed in 1767. The name derives from the former army barracks built during the Napoleonic Wars which was located near to modern day Kennel Corner. The land was sold off in 1828 with the resulting fields lining Laughton Road eventually succumbing to housing as developers purchased the small fields which lay some distance from the farm that owned them. Consequently, this small field located on the corner of Laughton Road and Neaves Lane is all that remains.
