Market Lane
Running between Fisher Street and Market Street. The structure with the chimney is the Needlemakers an old factory now converted into a small shopping area, the car park on the left is built on the site of New Street that was demolished in the 1970s. The lane itself backed onto the old town hall which once held markets beneath its chambers.

Wallis & Wallis Auction Galleries, West Street
Rather bizarre Edwardian building home to Wallis & Wallis since the 1950s. The entrance to the car park marks the spot of New Street, a street of small cottages demolished as slum clearance and left as another open space for parking cars.
