Abinger Place
Prior to 1821 the street was known as Church Lane or Church Street as it leads down to Image The Elephant & castle pub to the left was built on the site of Gallows Bank where the town's former executioner once carried out his work. Viewed from the junction with Mount Pleasant, the A2029.
