Railway near Burgess Hill
This railway is a branch from the main London to Brighton line. It links Haywards Heath with Lewes, Eastbourne and points further east along the Sussex coast. The line is electrified using the third rail system.

Bridge, Ditchling Common
The Keymer Junction - Lewes railway line was driven through the southern part of the common with this bridge being the only link provided. A number of bridleways and footpaths meet at either side to cross.

Mist and Sunlight, Ditchling Common
The trees are on the southern embankment of the Keymer Junction-Lewes railway and a gap allows the first rays of the early morning sun, about half an hour after sunrise, to break through the boughs and the mist.

Cattle on the path, near Burgess Hill
In this image, a footpath enters a field where cattle graze. The small arrow signs on the gatepost indicate the path. Cows can be quite inquisitive, and had just followed a group of people walking on the path.
