The 1879 Ordnance Survey map does not show this road, but there is a large house nearby on Keymer Road called "Parklands".

Downs View Road
Small estate of the 1950s housing. Hassocks owes its existence to the coming of the railway in 1839 which turned empty fields and orchards into a small commuter town eclipsing the older nearby settlement of Keymer.
