Cinder Path
Footpath connecting Hassocks to Clayton whilst following the eastern side of the London-Brighton railway line throughout its entire length. The wall to the right is part of an embankment as the railway crosses a small tributary of Herrings stream.

Downs View Road
Small estate of the 1950s housing. Hassocks owes its existence to the coming of the railway in 1839 which turned empty fields and orchards into a small commuter town eclipsing the older nearby settlement of Keymer.
