Site of Common Wood
Marked as such on the 1840 tithe map and the first OS map of 1813, however, by 1874 OS map the wood had been grubbed up and turned into fields. The wood ran from here northwards to Poynings Crossways where the modern B2117 is located and marked by the evergreens in the distance. It followed the road on the left and the field boundary to the right.

Park Plain
The name of the field according to the 1840 tithe map. This is the southern section of the field lying between the farm track and Park Wood to the south, it stretches northwards to Pondtail Wood next to the B2117.

The name of the field according to the 1840 tithe map. Poynings Common was located at the end of this field beyond Poynings Crossways, still named as such today but is a private wood.

Five Acres by Common
Small field next to the A281 that narrows as it heads northwards with the name given as it appeared on the 1840 tithe map, the common having been located at the far end of the field next to Poynings Crossways. Taken from the footpath that links Henfield Road to Poynings Grange Farm. Shaves Wood is in the distance.
