Fields Behind Old Shoreham
Viewed from the footpath that links Mill Hill to the A283. The fields back out from the old main street of Old Shoreham. The River Adur, Old Toll Bridge and Shoreham Airport can be viewed through the haze to the right.

This large field has been split up into a several paddocks for grazing horses.

Service Road
Hidden away between the A27/A283 intersection and the foot of Mill Hill is this service road for the reservoir and water treatment works next to Mill Hill Nature Reserve. Part of the footpath from Mill Hill to the A283 follows the road before turning westwards. Despite the fact it was 10.30am when the image was taken the shade of the trees and houses on the hill have prevented the sun from shining here and therefore the frost is still laying.

Running parallel with the Shoreham By-Pass with the flyover, River Adur and Ricardos Engineering Works all in the distance though in the next square.

Footpath 3138
Prior to the construction of the cutting concealing the A27 from view,this path continued north towards the Mill Hill Nature Reserve. It now follows a detour over Mill Hill bridge.

Enigmatic memorial in Old Shoreham Churchyard
Only one word is moulded or incised in what looks like Coade stone ... "Fuerunt" ... which might translate as "We were here".
