River Adur Flood Plain
Looking from the footpath on the eastern bank towards Old Erringham represented by the white house in the distance. A fully stocked hawthorn bush is in the foreground whilst beyond is the Downs Link long distance cycle path and bridleway marked by the line of bushes. Mill Hill is beyond.

Downs Link bridleway
Looking north towards the disused cement works at Beeding. The route follows the track of the Shoreham to Horsham railway, opened in 1861. The section of the line to the cement works closed in 1981.

Fairview Cottages, Erringham
Three cottages built in the 1960s. Erringham is a shrunken medieval settlement that was important enough to possess its own chapel at ease during the 12th century. A mixture of pestilicence, change in downland agricultural practice and the possible shifting of the River Adur meant the settlement declined in numbers until reduced to a single farm.

Track, Old Erringham
Private track linking the farm buildings to the cottages and houses of the settlement. The footpath crosses it at this point.

Downs Link Footpath towards Bramber & Steyning built on the same route as the old Shoreham - Steyning railway line.

Footpath to Old Erringham
Following the bank and field before heading northwards towards the settlement. The Adur flood plain is to the left with the South Downs restarting beyond.
