Maritime House, Basin Road North, Aldrington, Hove
A large office building that also includes a berthing area for yachts. Part of a timber pond on the 1875 OS map which was slowly developed throughout the 20th century, initially becoming a timber yard in the 1930s, then known as Maxwell Wharf in the 1950s before the current building was built in the 1960s housing the local RNR headquarters from 1968 until closure in 1994. 366-368, Kingsway, Aldrington, Hove
Number 366 on the left appears to have been built in the 1930s and was called Maxwell House on the 1951 OS map, Kingsway House on the 1958 edition and just 366 on the 1970s version. In 2002 it became an American diner called Woodies who closed in November 2016. Judging by the property company's brochure it appears the building will be let as offices. Number 368 beyond is Ocean Sports who have been retailing surf and skateboard equipment since the 1990s.

Aldrington Basin
The eastern end of the canal forming Shoreham Harbour. The port was created in 1855 on the old course of the River Adur whose mouth had been pushed as far eastwards as Aldrington by centuries of longshore drift but had been made redundant by the cutting of the current mouth in 1815. Looking across North Basin Quay with Image to the right. The flats visible to the left are Image, Image and Image respectively. See also Image
