Hove: start delayed
Heavy overnight rain delayed the start of the final County Championship match of the 2017 season. Supporters of Sussex and Nottinghamshire waited patiently in warm late-September sunshine for play to begin and the game to meander amiably towards a draw. This is the grassy bank at the Cromwell Road End of the ground, with the practice nets and the players' pavilion in the background.

Cromwell Court
These flats were built in the 1960s and stand on the corner of Cromwell Road and Palmeira Avenue. Those at the back are highly sought after as their balconies offer an unhindered view of Sussex's County Cricket Ground one of whose floodlights can be seen to the left of the building. This view looks south west from the crossroads to the north east of the ground.

County Cricket Ground
Viewed from Cromwell Road past the lower floors of Cromwell Court and looking towards the floodlights on the eastern side of the ground. Hard to believe the cricket season starts in a few weeks time when Sussex will try to defend their title and go for a third in a row.

Brecon Court
The rear of a small block of flats that front out onto Selbourne Place. Viewed from Wilbury Villas though for how long will depend on whether planning permission to build flats on the small open ground in the foreground is given the go ahead.
