Courtenay Gate, Courtenay Terrace, Kingsway
A view of the block from Kingsway rather than across the lawns. Built in 1934 on the site of the eastern end of Mills Terrace which had been constructed in the 1820s and demolished in 1899. It would take three decades for the site to be redeveloped. The flats were requisitioned by the Admiralty during the Second World War.

Courtney Gate
Tall block of flats that are one of the few to be built south of the A259 on the sea side. Viewed from Kings Lawns which separate the sea from the main road from the boundary with Brighton to this point. More lawns begin beyond the King Alfred centre.

Courtney Gate
See Image for a clearer view of the flats which lie at the western end of King's Lawns. It probably snows about twice a year on the south coast and rarely lies in any depth, however, today has seen about four or five inches settle meaning a Sunday playtime for kids of all ages as the snowmen building attests.

Courteney Gate
Viewed from the beach at sunset. Built in the 1930s as luxury apartments though they were requisitioned during the war before returning to their original usage. This is the side view as the entrance looks out across the lawns providing the western boundary and viewpoint for their entire length.
