Hither Wood Field
The name of the field according to the 1837 tithe map which has been expanded to include three others; Kiln Field to the south, Middle Lodge Field to the south east and Six Acres to the east. The old field boundaries can just about be made out on the ground whilst beyond the windbreaks is Deanland Wood Caravan Park.

Deanland Wood Caravan Park
A view of the entrance from Deanland Road. The park's pub restaurant, The Inn on the Park, is open to the general public as well as residents. The caravan park seems to date from at least the 1960s.

Communications by the entrance to Deanland Wood Park
A fine looking site for residential mobile homes complete with all amenities, including pub.
The site is based over a former RAF WWII site where Spitfires flew from and had a high success rate of 185 kills of the 'Doddlebugs'
