Upper Dicker Village Shop and cafe
Situated in a small Cul-de-sac off Coldharbour Road. The Weald Way path passes by the side of a house just out of sight to the right, first impressions are that you are entering someones back garden.

The Village Shop, Upper Dicker
Also a cafe. Very popular with pupils of Bede's School, for whom it appears to operate as a tuck shop.

The Village Shop & Cafe
The shop as well as neighbouring Providence House date from the 18th century and were the site of the village's post office between 1852 and its closure in 2008. Since 1991 it has been owned by St Bede's school whose pupils more or less keep the place running. See http://www.upperdicker.com/ for details. My visit coincided with a power cut so was denied the pleasure of a breakfast but were able to provide a sandwich and a nice pot of tea instead.

Sundial and Village Shop, Upper Dicker
The sundial is on a small village green between the shop and Coldharbour Road. The shop itself has been a post office since 1855 and is currently one of those on the Royal Mail's list for closure much to the annoyance of both villagers and boarders from the nearby independent St Bede's School. The current owners moved in last September and have revamped the store to include not only a post office but a small cafe too.
