124-125 Bishopstone
Bishopstone was an extate village owned by the Pelhams who resided at Stanmer near Brighton who numbered their houses incrementally on all estates they owned. These days most houses now have names, the one on the left is now Vine Cottage but many are still just numbers. These two cottages lie on the western side of Image

School House
At the western end of Image is the old 19th century village school. The northern cottage is now a residence whilst the adjoining former school building is now the village hall.

White Row
A small terrace of 19th century cottages to the north of Image and numbered 126-129 when the Pelhams owned the village. These days the cottage on the left is Pepperstitch and that to the right is White Row Cottage both of which seem to have expanded into a neighbouring cottage over time.

The Old School House, Bishopstone

The Egg
The name of the village green that lies to the immediate north of St Andrew's church. Believed to derive from the old English 'hagg' meaning an enclosure it is believed that part of the settlement once existed here. To the right is the village hall which was once the local school.

White Row Cottages, White Row, Bishopstone, East Sussex
The cottages belong to the Earl of Chichester Estate and are numbered 126 to 129, White Row Bishopstone. This is because the Earl numbered all his tied cottages starting in Stanmer Park near Brighton.
