Bishopstone was an extate village owned by the Pelhams who resided at Stanmer near Brighton who numbered their houses incrementally on all estates they owned. These days most houses now have names, the one on the left is now Vine Cottage but many are still just numbers. These two cottages lie on the western side of Image
