A two-storey building with a five-storey block of flats, Crouchfield Close, behind it. There is a small public garden through the gate, right. The tree looks like a weatherbeaten Monterey Cypress (Cupressus macrocarpa).

Tudor Gateway, Crouch Gardens, East Street, Seaford
The Tudor gateway was found in the cellars of the Old Town Hall. In 1952 Berry Brothers Ironmongers of Seaford made a wrought iron gate for it. There is therefore an Elizabethan Gate in an Elizabethan Gate!

The postal address is Crouch Lane although the entrance to the flats is on the amorphous junction of Crouch Lane, left, East Street off to the right with the car park, Bramber Lane and Crooked Lane behind the camera. The 'Crouch' element of local names is unexplained.
