Sovereign Harbour Marina
The area known as the Crumbles, a shingle bank on the coast to the east of the town centre was redeveloped in the 1990s to build a marina, shops, and several thousand houses, along with luxury flats and apartments. Now known as Sovereign Harbour, the area was formerly home to many species of rare plants.
The main marina, called Inner Harbour, is behind the twin sea locks (Image]). This is the central body of water and was the first harbour in use. It contains berths for both visiting and resident berth holders.
