Eastbourne Station
The airy concourse at Eastbourne is busy on a summer saturday with day trippers arriving in the town and others heading off to watch football at Brighton. The railway came to Eastbourne in 1849 but the present station dates from 1886.

Oliver Cromwell arriving on platform 1, Eastbourne
This photo shows the steam locomotive Oliver Cromwell arriving at a crowded platform 1 in Eastbourne. The train is shown stationary at the extreme end of the line. The visit of the train was in connection with a special commemorative tour celebrating 150 years of the Seaford to Brighton rail link.
