Canal Bridge, Yapton
Bridge over what was once the course of the Portsmouth and Arundel Canal. It is now in the middle of a small housing estate.

Canal Bridge, Yapton
The course of the canal has long been filled up and in this case is now used as a residential cul de sac called The Pines. The bridge remains, however, and takes a footpath from Main Road to Drove Lane Farm. This view looks south east from the end of The Pines.

A one-time Yapton resident informs me that this hostelry was known as 'The Shoulder of Mutton and Cucumbers' but never found out its origin.
