Nestor Court
Viewed from Preston Park before children off school and families off work descended onto the virgin snow. The snail like traffic attempting to enter Brighton along the A23 can be seen between the flats and the park.

Preston Park, Brighton
The first park owned by the council dating back to 1883 and by far the largest. In the foreground a Sunday league fixture is about to kick off whilst beyond are a block of 1960s flats known as Preston Grange. Beyond them to the left are houses located in Highcroft Villas.

Pool in the Rookery
Up until today I had always known this as the rockery but it appears rookery is the correct (or at least original) title http://www.mybrightonandhove.org.uk/page_id__6231_path__0p224p1271p1281p.aspx The rookery is part of Preston Park though located on the opposite side of the road. the area is the largest municipal rock garden in Britain built up the side of a steep railway embankment. Various pathways and streams wind through its grounds. It was originally a wooded area which had been purchased along with the land used for the main park; it was landscaped into its present form in 1935 by Captain B Maclaren. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preston_Park,_Brighton

179, Preston Road, Brighton
The western side of Preston Road adjacent to preston Park was once lined with upmarket villas with large gardens mostly built during the 1870s, see http://regencysociety-jamesgray.com/volume18/source/jg_18_102.html. Near enough all were demolished in the 1960s and replaced by large office blocks which in turn are also starting to show their age and are being replaced by newer ones. This one is yet to be completed.

Viewed from Image with the mainline in the centre and the northern extent of the Lowers Walk sidings either side. The latter were added in the 1880s. The open space on the left beyond the parked train was once the site of former carriage sheds which were removed about seven years ago.
