Worthing: Salvation Army stone by the beach
Located at the old fish market area to the immediate east of the pier, this stone states that, by kind permission, the Salvation Army has preached the Gospel here since 1858.
The pier can be glimpsed in the background.

The beach at Worthing, West Sussex
Looking towards the east promenade from near the land end of the pier. Although the top of the beach profile in this direction does become more shingly to the east, plenty of sand is available when the tide is not at its highest. The wooden groynes help prevent erosion and long-shore drift of beach material to the east.
The distinctive dome of the Edwardian Dome Cinema (Grade II* listed) is still the tallest building on the seafront. Part of the North Pavilion (Pavilion Theatre) is just visible on the left.
