Ready for the off
Another competitor in the Ramsbottom rake hillclimb is about to start. The refurbished library is on the right. The Heritage Society used to occupy the site to the left, but it is now having a children's centre built on it.

Queen Elizabeth Window, Ramsbottom Library
The refurbished Ramsbottom Library on Carr Street, has been open to the public since February 2007 under the name of 'Ramsbottom Library and Adult Learning Centre'. As part of the refurbishment, the mezzanine level of the main library features two of the original stained glass windows created by Bryan Farlow to commemorate the Queen's Jubilee, plus this new a new window mark the Queen's 80th birthday. This window incorporates Ramsbottom's landmark East Lancashire Railway and features the LMS number 6201 Princess Elizabeth steam locomotive, which visited the town during the winter steam event.
