Charminster: Charminster Road Post Office
This post office is towards the southern end of Charminster Road shops. It has many cosmopolitan neighbours, having become the heart of foreign student accommodation; you can have Cantonese, Thai, Turkish, Indian meals among many other nationalities.
The post office serves a rather large area, since the closure of Image ½ mile or so to the north at the end of October 2008. Nevertheless, the queue was not all that long this Saturday morning and I waited only a couple of minutes to be served.

Charminster: postbox № BH8 58, Charminster Road
A gentleman posts a letter in this Edward VII-reign postbox which stands outside Image Post is collected finally at noon on Saturdays, and at 5:30pm on weekdays. A rectangular rough patch on this side of the box indicates where there would once have been a stamp vending machine.

Charminster: junction of Heron Court, Iddesleigh and Charminster Roads
Heron Court Road, nearest us, and Iddesleigh Road to the right, both come out on Charminster Road, here by the northern end of the cemetery (which is behind the large tree).
Two days after heavy snow earlier in the week had all thawed, this fresh lot fell from the north this morning, despite the fact that the day started rainy, with large puddles all around.
By nightfall, the main carriageways of all roads were clear of snow and ice, so this was a very heavy fall considering that it started and had almost disappeared on the same day.
