The greenery in the foreground used to be the roof of the gents’ underground toilets; there is a similar one above what used to be the ladies’ on the adjoining island.

Bournemouth: my shadow waits for a bus
A colleague's leaving do means that I find myself waiting at the Lansdowne for the last 5b bus of the night, at 23:33, and I seem to have missed it by about two minutes. The 5a, though, has a later service so I would soon be on my way - the 5a and 5b take slightly different routes through the suburbs so it just means I have a slightly longer walk at the other end.
The advert reflected in the glass is that of the TSB bank. The TSB disappeared from the High Street in 1998 when it merged with Lloyds Bank to become Lloyds TSB. But two weeks ago, on 9 September 2013, the two banks separated, meaning that some branches became Lloyds and some became TSB. The slogan on this advert reads "HERE. And in 630 other places right across Britain", referring to the fact that the branch just ahead of us was one of those which became a TSB.
