A short public footpath linking Ipswich and Nelson Roads, viewed from its southern end. The path contains numerous mini-flights of two or three steps, separated by longer flat sections.

On such a dreary, drizzly day, there is a dark feel as we walk up the steps of Image The pattern of two or three steps separated by flat segments continues throughout the length of the path.

The boundary
This is the point where Bournemouth becomes Poole. The sign on the right is a Bournemouth one; the one on the left is a Poole one. You can see the join in the road where one council has done resurfacing work up to the limit of their jurisdiction.

Westbourne: footpath A02 from the Upper Gardens
This is one of several little public footpaths coming down from (in this case) Surrey Road onto the Upper Gardens. A little cloud of dust can be seen at the top of the path, in the wake of a lorry that has just driven past.
