Bournemouth: Bristol & West House from below
Looking up Richmond Hill from The Square, with on our right-hand side this imposing but perhaps under-appreciated art-deco façade of Bristol & West House, which is named after the building society, long gone and taken over, which used to occupy it.
The building overcomes the rather steep gradient of the site, with the shops on the ground floor at different levels and the first floor becoming the ground floor nearer the top.

Bournemouth - Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart
The philanthropist, novelist and biographer Lady Georgiana Fullerton (1812 - 1885) was a regular worshipper here, and was also the founder of St Walburga's School in Bournemouth which still survives, albeit on a new site. Completed in 1875, Sacred Heart was Bournemouth's first Roman Catholic church that reopened in 2013 after an extensive £270,000 restoration.
