Start of Sir Dudley's Ride, New Forest
This plaque marks the start of a forest track named "Sir Dudley's Ride" to the west of the Old House. The smaller plaque reads: "THE NEW FOREST CONSULTATIVE PANEL PLANTED TWO OAK TREES IN APPRECIATION OF SIR DUDLEY FORWOOD'S PERIOD IN OFFICE AS FOUNDER - CHAIRMAN FROM 1971 TO 1982". In the background are winter beeches.

South Oakley Inclosure, New Forest
This north-western part of the South Oakley Inclosure contains oak from the original 1860s plantation. There are many cleared "rides" within the inclosure, some of which have passable tracks, some gravelled, and others hard going and boggy (like the one shown in this photo).
