Interior of Streets Toy Shop, Ringwood
This shows part of the shop and Mr. Alan Andrews who is a grandson of the founder Charles William Street. The business started in 1915 as a garage repair business with petrol pumps and a cycle shop and a pram and toy shop. They also delivered coal locally and ran a private ambulance. See also Image and Image This shop closed in April 2010, see http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/5060904.Game_over_for_Ringwood_toysell/ and BBC video http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8575055.stm In December 2012 planning permission was granted for the redevelopment of the site, number 55 to 57 Christchurch Road. The ground floor shop is to be retained and refurbished. The warehouse, garage and extension behind it are to be demolished and a terrace of four cottages built fronting onto Woodstock Lane.

Christchurch Road, Ringwood
Looking towards its junction with Mansfield Road (where white van is). On right is the Methodist & United Reformed church, Trinity Church (sorry about the terrible composition will take a better one sometime). Also on right is Streets Toy Shop, which was founded by Charles William Street in 1915, has been here ever since, and is still family owned. See Image Later http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2544993
