Pillbox (type FW3/22): DoB ID: S0013853
Anti-tank Blocks: DoB ID: S0013852
On an industrial estate on the northern approach to Christchurch is a type 22 pillbox standing between a line of 31 reinforced concrete anti-tank blocks. Part of Christchurch Anti-Tank Island, the pillbox and tank traps were built alongside the track in the former railway yard, and at one time (as I remember) the line extended well beyond Christchurch railway station.

The pillbox interior showing the shuttered concrete construction of the ceiling and walls. The only brick component being the anti-ricochet wall in the centre. Under the embrasures are presumed traces of the supports and battens that once accommodated shelves.

Christchurch: the new Delivery Office, Reid Street
The Royal Mail Delivery Office was formerly in Wick Lane in the town centre, alongside what was also the main post office until the late 1990s. The post office has moved a couple of times since then, still in the town centre, but the Delivery Office remained there until early 2018 when it moved to these premises on a small industrial estate in the suburbs.
