Christchurch - "Where Time Is Pleasant"
In the High Street is the Old Town Hall which is also known as the Mayor's Parlour. This attractive open-arched building was originally built elsewhere in the High Street and was moved to its present position in the mid-19th century.

Christchurch: the Town Hall
The town hall was moved along the High Street from here in the 1800s and nowadays forms a frontage to the Saxon Square shopping centre. See Image] for more discussion and the view from the other side.

Christchurch: the start of festivities in Saxon Square
Looking diagonally across the northeast end of Image, on a Saturday afternoon just before 4pm and a premature dusk thanks to the daylong rain. It is just getting Christmassy as we enter the last week in November.

Buildings of Christchurch (a selection): old Town Hall, High Street
Originally built in what was called The Square at the south end of the High Street (opposite the Olde George Inn) in 1745, and moved in 1859 to its present position. Listed Grade II.
