Thatched House in Chalbury Common
This thatched and red brick house is on the main street in Chalbury Common and it is currently for sale with Battens estate Agents for £595,000. The agents blurb says : " A beautifully presented 3 bedroom detached 19th century thatched cottage set in the heart of the hamlet of Chalbury, on a large elevated site. The delightful garden has STUNNING VIEWS OVER THE SURROUNDING COUNTRYSIDE TOWARDS CRANBORNE CHASE. 2 reception rooms, kitchen/breakfast room & utility room." I suppose if it was a tiled roof it would be a "de-thatched" house.

Chalbury Common: postbox № BH21 31, phone box, noticeboard
The noticeboard of Knowlton parish council, a fairly recent amalgamation of a couple of village parishes, accompanies a postbox and telephone box on the corner of Tower Close, named for its proximity to Horton Tower but not providing access to it.

Telephone box, Chalbury Common
In 1935, the Post Office commissioned a new kiosk from Sir Giles Gilbert Scott to celebrate the Jubilee of King George V. The K6 Jubilee Kiosk, as it is known, was similar to the K2 box, being made of cast iron and painted red but was 25% lighter in weight. By the end of the 1930s there were 20,000 K6 telephone boxes in use all over the UK.

Chalbury Common, fingerpost
At the junction of the road to Wimborne, and a minor road to B3078; a traditional Dorset gridded fingerpost, with six figure grid reference (026067), and location given as "Chalbury Hell Corner". Superficially, at least, there seems to be nothing infernal about the location.

Hell Corner, Chalbury Common
A junction of minor roads in the hamlet of Chalbury. I am not sure why it is called Hell Corner. The finger-post has a roundel on the top with a grid reference.
