A standard design of lamp-box – so called because they were designed to be clasped to lampposts (or, as in this case, telegraph poles). It is emptied finally at 4:30pm on weekdays and at 9:15am on Saturdays.

Shaggy ink cap
At first, the cap is egg-shaped and whitish with shaggy fibres. It expands with age and together with gills,blackens and liquefies. Yuk!
