Was she a talkative landlady or was she a saint - these are just two of the stories about name of the inn.

Coldharbour, The Silent Woman
Pub on Bere Road; the sign portrays a headless woman holding her head, with the rhyme "Since the woman is quiet let no man breed a riot". The rhyme is mentioned by Thomas Hardy, albeit at a different location: http://www.classicreader.com/book/1077/6/ Since the establishment is closed on Mondays, I was not able to check the interior and wares, but other customers' views are here: http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/13/13764/Silent_Woman/Coldharbour
